Today, I thought of the verse that says...

But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 2 Peter

Jesus revealed something to me today. Many of the problems in the Church today aren't because of false teachers and teachings. They are rampant, and the lies run deep, but do you know where the problem really lies?
Jesus showed us that false teachers would be amongst us..He didn't say they would be in the strange cultish religion that we like to point the finger at... He said they would be among us.. THE CHRISTIANS...
But, one thing that He showed me is the the problem lies within us.. False teachings and teachers would hold no power if we simply didn't listen to a word that they had to say. IF we truly sought the HOLY SPIRIT for guidance..(since Jesus did say it would be The HOLY SPIRIT who would lead us into ALL  TRUTH)... then the words of the false teachers would fall to ground without impact.
"IN their greed, they will exploit you"  IS there a day when we can't turn on the television when someone isn't selling Jesus over the airwaves? IS He being sold in our own churches? The words of Jesus never change.
"FREELY GIVE AS YOU HAVE RECEIVED"
So, maybe the problem isn't with the money hungry preachers and peddlers of the Word and sellers of miracles.. Maybe the problem is with US..  Jesus told us, in His Word that people, disgused as Christians, would expoit us, and yet... We faithfully give them our money.
What does Jesus say..clothe the naked? feed the hungry? take in the poor wanderer?
Guys, to make this message more clear. He loves us. Quit giving false teachers more power by listening to what they have to say. Don't assume that you know that you aren't listening to a false teaching until you ask God to send you the Holy Spirit to lead you into Truth.
Jesus never told us to let anyone direct our path but Him.
BUT in all thy ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy path. THe good thing about the Holy Spirit, is that He is actually quite beautiful. Through His eyes you will be able to see yourself through the way that He sees you...You will be able to see others the way that He sees them.. You will love people you have never even met, and when His love flows through, you will experience compassion like you have never known.
But be prepared. He may also show you how desperately things have gone and how sad He is that many of us are so far from His heart.

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6

Today, I read this from finallcall07 Youtube.  It rings true.
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise." Those are the words of king David in Psalm 51:17. The only sacrifice that we can bring to God is our own brokenness because if we are spirited and strong in ourselves we will not listen to Him, we will not obey Him.
Jesus said:"Blessed are they who are poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" Matthew 5:3. It is only when we are poor in spirit, poor in OUR OWN SPIRIT, poor in our own ideas and opinion, our own resources, it is only then that we are willing to OBEY the King, to LISTEN to Him, to FOLLOW Him and to be useful, fruitful in His kingdom. People who are wise in their own estimation, who lean on their own understanding and their own Bible knowledge WILL NOT LISTEN to the Holy Spirit. We need to empty ourselves of our SELF, of our own resources, of our own plans and our own opinions and totally submit to the Holy Spirit, TRUST Him, LISTEN and OBEY or else we will not follow Jesus, we will not do what is pleasing to Him.
As long as we lean on our own understanding and we are adamant about our own opinion we are in direct opposition, in rebellion against Jesus Christ because then we elevate ourselves and we think that we are God, we think that we are more clever and more wise than Him and we will not follow in His plan. God is not interested in our opinions or in our plans.
Jesus Christ is LORD and if we follow Him, we serve HIM as LORD. Wisdom that comes from the mind of man is satanic and in rebellion against God. Unless we deny ourselves, deny our own opinions and our own ways we cannot follow Jesus and we cannot be pleasing to Him, we cannot be part of the kingdom of God because we will not submit ourselves to Jesus. What He requires of us is utter and total submission to Him, We cannot please Jesus unless we submit to Jesus and totally obey Him.
May Jesus bless you.
