God is enthroned above the earth, and those who live on it are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the sky like a canopy and spreads it out like a tent to live in - Isaiah 40:22
I love meteor showers. In our family, we have recently developed a tradition.
On meteor shower nights, we will huddle up with warm blankets (depending on the time of year), light the bon fire, gather our Fema issued cots, cozy up with some hot chocolate and stay up for hours upon end enjoying nature's light show and ..each other's company.
Last year, we had quite a few family members over to watch the spectacle.
I hope that you and your family can also enjoy God's wonderous display of the heavens.
Thus, I am posting this meteor shower schedule for this year.
I am trying to think what we will do for the summer meteor showers..Perhaps substitute the hot chocolate for iced teas..and make sure we have plenty of mosquito spray on hand.
Please note I am putting the dates of the showers only. To find out peak times, you will have to google it.. But first..enjoy these pics of last year's meteor shower and lunar eclipse soiree!
The next shower will be on April 21, 22 - The Lyrids meteor shower
May 5,6 - Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower
May 20th will be a partial solar eclipse
July 28,29 - The Southern Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower.
August 12,13 - Perseids Meteor Shower
October 21,22 - Orionids Meteor Shower
November 13 - another solar eclipse!
November 17,18 - Leonids Meteor Shower
November 28 - a lunar eclipse!
December 13,14- Geminids Meteor Shower
So there you have it friends, stargazer, just in case you are interested in starting up a tradition of your own.
